Royal Mint Bullion offers you the flexibility to sell your gold, silver or platinum bullion coins and bars to us at competitive rates, based on live precious metal market prices. The gold, silver or platinum which you sell to us does not have to be produced by The Royal Mint as we will gladly accept enquiries regarding coins and bars from other mints and refineries around the world. This gives you the opportunity to sell bullion which was stored or purchased elsewhere offering you both convenience and flexibility.

You either have the option to send your gold, silver or platinum coins and bars to The Royal Mint using a track and trace delivery service offered by your local post office or by hand delivery to one of our approved partners in London.

For higher value orders we may be able to offer a convenient collection service from your registered address.

We make selling gold, silver or platinum easy, safe and secure. Please contact our customer service team to discuss this service.

Please note: Due to the festive period, any enquiries relating to The Royal Mint’s buy-back service will not be picked up by our team between Wednesday 20th December 2017 until Monday 1st January 2018. Any enquiries that are sent to us during this period will be answered when our team returns from the holidays on Tuesday 2nd January 2018.

I purchased my bullion elsewhere - will you accept it?

Yes. gold, silver & platinum coins and bars of any denomination, age and source can be sold to us as long as you are able to produce evidence of where the items were originally obtained from. This is due to anti-money laundering checks which we are legally required to make.

How do I send my bullion to you?

You either have the option to send your gold, silver or platinum coins and bars to The Royal Mint using a track and trace delivery service offered by your local post office or by hand delivery to one of our approved partners in London.

Do you offer a collection service?

For higher value orders we may be able to offer a convenient collection service from your registered address. Please contact us to discuss this service.

How much does my coin weigh?

Certain coins, such as The Sovereign and Krugerrand, are not ‘pure gold’ as they also contain additional metals. For the purpose of this service, the value of the item will be based on the value of the precious metal contained within the gold. As a reference, some of the popular coins and their weights are listed below.

Do you accept scrap gold, silver or platinum and jewellery?

Unfortunately not. Only gold, silver or platinum coins and bars (both cast and minted) can be sent to us using this service. No scrap gold, silver or platinum, jewellery or decorative items can be accepted.

Do you offer a higher value for historic or collectible items?

Certain coins may command a higher premium than others (such as historic Sovereign coins, for example). When you contact us for a quotation we will take all details into consideration and will provide a quotation based on the age, condition and rarity of the item. This means that certain coins may be worth more than their metal value alone and this will be reflected in the quotation which we offer you.

How long does this process take?

Once you have completed your details in the form above, we will contact you as soon as possible to provide you with an indicative price. If you choose to proceed, we will email you further details including an address label to which you must post the item. After the item is received, it will be assayed within three working days.
